    The MGM collaboration Project, India

MGM Institute for Health Sciences (MGMIHS) and WSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2014. Professor and Director Rajani Mullerpartan PT, PhD is World Spine Care contact person to develop collaborative and joint program in spine care for underserved communities in Mumbai and Maharashtra. MGM Institute is one of the premier educational institutions in India, offering Medicine, Physiotherapy, Orthopedic and Neuro Surgery and several other medical and allied health specialties with a vision of improving people’s quality of life, both at individual and community levels by imparting quality medical education to tomorrow’s health care professionals.Located at the brink of urban and rural India, MGMIHS is in the best position to evaluate and address healthcare needs of both sectors of people.

The collaboration between WSC and MGM is a great opportunity to develop models for this part of India to help prevent spine disability and manage evidence based spine care in under-served communities in collaboration with the villages while respecting the traditions and cultures of the region. This initiative is in tune with the focus of MGMIHS on finding better, safer and affordable ways of diagnosing, treating and preventing disease.
