Faye Deane

Faye Deane, MPH, PhD(c), BSc(Hons) Chiropractic, FRCC, FRSPH, is Course Leader and Senior Lecturer for the MSci Chiropractic Programme at Teesside University, UK, and a board member of World Spine Care. She holds a Master’s degree in International Public Health from the University of York and is currently undertaking a PhD in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Health Policy and Systems Research, focused on strengthening equitable MSK care delivery within complex health systems.

Faye’s work spans global health policy, education, and community-based intervention, with a strong commitment to improving access to spine care across high-, middle-, and low-income settings. Her public health training includes international internships in Malawi and Santiago, Chile, shaping her long-standing focus on health equity, disability prevention, and sustainable workforce development.

She serves as Vice President of the British Chiropractic Association, where she leads political advocacy to improve access to MSK care for underserved populations in the UK. Internationally, Faye is a member of the World Federation of Chiropractic Committee in Official Relations with the World Health Organization and the Global Alliance for Musculoskeletal Health Policy Task Force. She also contributes to World Spine Care research exploring volunteer and stakeholder perspectives in low-resource settings.

Across all roles, Faye is committed to advancing evidence-informed, system-level solutions that reduce the global burden of spine-related disability through education, empowerment, and policy reform.
