Annina Zürcher

Annina Zürcher graduated as a physiotherapist from Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland.  Her fascination with movement, body awareness, the importance of considerate communication and reducing an individual’s functional limitations to restore independence led her to focus her continued educational journey in the field of MSK and neurological physiotherapy.

She completed her first Master of Science in musculoskeletal physiotherapy becoming an Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal and Manual Physiotherapist (IFOMPT). She has subsequently refined her skills in evidence-based practice combining clinical and research roles within a hospital environment. She has held various positions in the areas of vocational training, scientific writing, professional policy and medical ethics.

These experiences have stimulated a deep interest in the interplay between social and individual determinants of health resulting in a commencement of a second Master’s degree in Global Public Health and Social Justice at Brunel University of London.

The work of World Spine Care, its interprofessional foundations and focus upon improving the lives of those in underserved situations sparked a desire to become involved in helping toachieve their mission and vision.
