Sona Sarma Kolke

Sona Sarma Kolke is presently a part-time PhD Scholar at MGM School of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai. She is well-versed in assessing and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction/impairments with manual techniques including joint, soft tissue & neural mobilization, exercise therapy, and electrotherapy. She has a teaching experience of more than 15 years and clinical experience of 20 years. She is Professor & Head of the Musculoskeletal PT Department. at the Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation College of Physiotherapy, Pune, India. 

She has completed her Master's in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a certificate course in Sports Medicine. She has gained training in various clinical techniques, including Mulligan Mobilization, Neurodynamic mobilization (Shacklock), Basic & Advanced MFR (including instrument-aided soft tissue mobilization), Basic Taping Technique, and blood flow restriction therapy (BFRT). 

She has presented papers at national conferences and served as a resource faculty for national and international conferences. She has contributed to a book chapter on ‘Physiotherapy in Spinal Conditions’ in the Textbook for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy edited by Megha Sheth in 2022 & has 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has also written various articles focusing on the role of Physiotherapy (musculoskeletal conditions) for local newspapers like the Times of India (Pune edition), Sakal, and Lokmat. She has participated in various Physiotherapy camps organized by the Institute or NGOs and held awareness talks for the general public.
